I am going to put one of those backgrounds on my 20 gallon long when I upgrade those fish to a new 33 gallon. Not quite monster enough for MFK, but I will get some insight on them as well before I decide to go any bigger. Gonna be my hillstream loach biotope.

Anyway JK47, thanks for the words, I just like to make fun of myself. My new strategy is to help you late in the day so I can stick around for dinner. Your younger son is also quite entertaining while his dad tries to figure out how to plumb his monster tank, even if I have no idea what he's talking about most of the time. "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

I am definitely stealing that FX5 idea. So simple, yet so... original.
Thanks Dave. Any luck with your RO drip? Mine is actually going on this tank. Drop me a call if you still have my number. We can bounce some ideas off one another. I asm going 100% tap for a while then slowly starting the drip. I'll post uup my designs on that later.

Do it with your 90g Colin! :D Your Atabapo biotope would look fantastic with one of these. No reason to wait bro. My 120g is going to be an Orinoco drainage tank. That's why I went with the Selvas background. My 120g is a "Mega Flow" tanks so the plumbing is through the bottom. I needed the space in the main "tree/root" thing for equipment.

Yep, you can cut them Devon. In fact I will have to cut every one in order for them to fit through the holes in my acrylic. The 120g and the 125g BG is actually going to have to be cut both length and/or width as well.

Question for you guys. I am getting ready to finish and cement the external durso pipes. Any one have any suggestions for keeping small fish from going for a ride?

These are not pushed all the way in to the bulkhead fitting yet but still gives an idea to whsat I'm doing.. I haven't drilled the top of the pipes for the airline either yet, FYI..

Anyone ever try this gutter guard stuff? It looks identical to what one of the saltwater LFS uses to cover their intakes. I found it in the garage and it's the only idea I can think of right now..

My buddy has 4 squares cut out from some eggcrate that he siliconed over the pipe... any smaller fish then that I'd say try the gutterguard.
