Edit: Any updated photo's yet?
From this point forward, it's about the finishing touch. What sets my projects apart from other peoples. (stand, lighting, drip system etc..) You ever notice how people with awesome tanks "crop" their pics so it's perfect? I say screw it and lets make the whole tank art. If people need things photo'shopped and cropped they can do it themselves.. :D

Mr. JK47 makes too much money at his big boy job to ever mess around with tanks as a money making venture with me right now. And he has a wife to buy cars for and two kids to buy red skinny jeans for.

He is also doing some very sneaky ninja original stuff for the 125 that no one has done before... that's why he drilled. I have been sworn to secrecy for MONTHS! :WHOA:
Forget the lexus, your gunna bring up the skinny jeans huh big guy...??? I will never understand what these kids are thinking.. :duh: The driftwood plans got a little more complicated. I won the free manzanita an mfk vendor has been selling latelly. Looks like I'm going to have both in the tank now. At least I'll get the chance to compare both, one with the "plans", one with the manzanita.

Phase II has officially began. :D Now that all tanks have basic equipment and are cycled, I can focus back on the RO systems and finishing touches mentioned above. I have been using RO for a long time. It takes my tap from ph 7.6 to below 6.0 and 0 TDS.. Tap on left, RO output on right. RO filter is temp as seen in below pic, just making a quick batch for the 10g.

First on the list is the 10 gallon. I switched out the filtration today. I pulled off the Lifeguard FBF 300 off and added an AC50 clockwork gave me. (thanks bro)

I pulled an old Eheim classic mech pad from a classic and cut it up to make this filter 100% mechanical/movement. There is no bio media in the 10 gallon and (see pic a page ago or so) the perams are 0, 0, 0. YEAH 0 NITRATES... I cut up a few different DIY filter pads (all mech) and moved the FBF 300 sand filter to the 125 gallon.

Nice. Good job making that AC pure mech. Obviously you don't need bio media with that many plants in a 10 gallon. ;)
I hope that little crypt grows as well for you as it does for me. I got a couple stalks smaller than the one I gave you when I bought it just a few months ago and... Well... You've seen it in my 33 now. :)

everything looks great justin. I've always wanted to do RO on my big tank and small planted tank, i just don't have a setup for it yet. hopefully soon. Keep up the good work.

Thanks again bro. The sand filter was awesome but lacking any mech so this is the best of both. My hopes for any live plants in this tank are zero. Just happy if it grows a little TBH. It is compeating with plants 1,000+ times it's size for nutients after all.

Thanks Nick. RO is a whole different ball game. I pulled all my fish off months ago so I could move around all the tank easy on tap. I'm stoked to be geting back at it. Mixing/heating sucks but it's still easier than mixing saltwater so meh..

Looks great Justin, I'd thought about setting up an RO system; I could really benefit from it but my lack of experience with RO and apartment living (lack of space)have me kinda weary of taking that on.

When I do get ready to delve into the wonderful world of RO, I am definitely going to pick your brain about ideas on a setup..:naughty:

ya thats what i've heard. i am really starting to get addicted to shrimp, and i would love to get from CRS, but i first need RO. And i bet my Geos and severums wouldn't mind the lower PH, i just don't know how i would hook it up for my 180g, maybe twice a week water changes of 50g, and that way i can use one of those big brown/black barrels on wheels.

The RO unit above is actually being plumbed to my washing machine cold water supply (higher pressure than the sink, 60 PSI is my target pressure) and I want it mounted permanently. It's a pain switching it out with a python all the time. My unit is 75 gallons per day so you plumb it permanently, to a sterile 55 gallon rain barrel on cinder blocks in the garage. You can buy float switches so you only take out what you use and let time do the rest.

If you would like, I will add the RO setup to this thread so you can see what is involved.. Just let me know. ;)

I don't know about honda237, but I would love to see your RO setup. You've sparked my interest and I'm thinking maybe it may be possible for me after all. Don't know about the permanent plumbing though...

You got it Tomeiko, I'll get started on it tonight. ;)

I would back burner any RO plans until your happy with your build though. They are around $200+ for a decent one and are more of a finishing touch oncer all other main components are purchased. You really have to plan it out well and do your homework though before buying/using one though.

Ya i would love to see it, my biggest problem is trying to find a place to hard plumb it.
