Poor fella, all the best for a speedy recovery
I feel bad for him too but he's 10 times better than he was. While on the topic of the 125 gallon, I got a shipment of mazanita in from MFK vendor "manzman". I won a free couple pieces and bought some as well. These are the dry pics. It's still floating but I'll add wet pics soon.

(my pitbull mutt is scared of random wood the mailman drops off apparently.. :screwy: it took me 10 minutes to get her to stop barking at it)

Happy New Year Justin!! Been away for a while but glad to see your little guys are doing well. Glad to hear Drama is getting the new year off to a good start, I will be doing some treadmill training on myself this year...tell her I feel her pain.

The 125g looks good, as always you're very innovative, nice touch using the perches. Looks great! You the man Justin! :headbang2:headbang2

Two updates for you guys, one of the 300 gallon and one of the 125 gallon. I think I am out of the "danger zone" with the 300 gallon leaching. The orange heads spawned for the first time in this tank (post BG install) and my big guy is back to eating, looking better and chacing everyone away from his favorite spots.. Unfortunatly you can tell the bone in the front of his face has broken. Obviously it's healing but still a bummer. I don't name fish but I'm tempted with this guy after all that work.

I'm glad I didn't QT anyone. I treated the whole tank as a QT and not a single loss in the end!! :headbang2

This is the first FTS once all the wood had been added.

Flash Off.JPG

This is how it looks now.. The manzanita is still floating at the top. Once it's water logged I'll rescape it but the vision is coming together. If your a "crispy water" guy, you might not want to look below lol.. ;)

The vines are growing the same white mold that all of the wood is as well. I am cuurious to see how its going to look in 3 months.. I actually think it looks cool myself..

Seeing the tank from the sides shows just how dark it really is. FYI I uuse eletrical tape around the top of all of my acrylic tanks to hide the water line. Like the plastic trim does for glass tanks. It's only noticeable when a camera flash hits it.

^ this is dedicated to every "how to make wood stop leaching" thread out there.. Blackwater (ma natures taste) is beautiful... ;)

I like the tannin stained water myself.

I have had the fuzz on the wood a few times. Especially new wood and new tanks. It goes away after a while I found.

I never mess with the fuzz either. It's always gone away for me in a couple weeks. I mention it mainly because this is wood I have never seen use. I am curious if that fuzz on the vines is the same and what will happen to it long term. So far I have to say very I'm pleased.

Two out of three of my tanks have black water. I love the look of it.
