Looks very nice Mike. Hey, I always wanted to ask but kept forgetting, are those plastic or real plants floating? If real what are they?

amazing look, do you put grout or anything?
 
i also noticed you dont have a stand pipe for that drilled hole for your filter... if its being used aren't you afraid of the power going out or your pump failing?

The one you are referring to is a drain. When I built the tank I put 2 overflows in the back corners set at 45 degree angles. The right side I built a box onto the overflow so it would pull water from the lower part of the tank as well. The tank has a 1" drain for water changes and the one next to it is the return from the pump. When the power is cut off the tank only drains 1/2 inch and the sump fills up about 2 inches so no worries on my end:)

Also, tiles are just laid in the tank. The are tight together and have flat backs.
 
All of the rays colors are changing for the better. Now I wished I would of done this a long time ago.
 
what size is the tank and how many rays i can see lots of eyes in the dark pic :)
