First off, welcome! Number 2- Beautiful fish. Need more pictures. I for one am skeptical with the recent market flood of alleged C. lopis. They are considered extinct and maybe I am naive but I was not aware of captive adult breeding projects. Could be its borneo native counterpart which looks awfully similar and taxonomically took a while to split due to their apparent similarities. Still not much scientifically about the more cryptic Chitala other than of course ornata and blanci. I am probably far from correct, either way nice, rare fish and I hope for conservation's sake, it is lopis!

There were some taxonomic issues with C. lopis since its discovery, after it was rediscovered at its type locality it was discovered that the fish is rather wide ranging. Still heavily threatened. This is definitely a mainland fish though and could potentially be a cryptic species.

IUCN has yet to update its listing, but the fish is indeed no longer considered extinct thankfully
