Fish skulls and Skeletons....fish anatomy and random other skulls

A friend gave me this shark head. I'm working on getting the cartilage bones out. It is a Hawaiian Shirtspine Spurdog(Squalus hawaiiensis) as far as I know.

I'm curious to see whats left after all the cleaning it should be just the jaws right?
You can already see what is left. It is 70-80% cleaned already. I will be setting the cartilage soon so I can dry it. What you see is the cartilage bone in the pictures. So it will have a cranium, eyes, jaw, possibly the Gill arches, and a few vertebrae.

Holy crap that's awesome! I always thought you couldn't keep the cartilage, learn something new everyday

It's difficult but can be done. Only a handfulbor two of people in the world do it. I aim to be one also

How’s the box I sent ya doing for ya? Have the tiny ones drove you insane yet?

Been a while. Life keeps throwing me flak but I keep doing what I can with the skeleton

I figured you guys might like this one. It's a partial Channel Catfish skeleton I just finished up for a client.
