Fish tank water turned dark purple

May wanna do another water change but as those above said your fish seem to be taking it ok for the moment. Just gotta watch for long term effects

Well so far fish seem ok and tank has a tint to it still. Only thing I can think of that could leak anything into it is plastic from filter but I've never had anything like this before. Guess I'll have to wait to see how this all turns out.
 
That is weird! I googled purple tank water to see if this was a common occurrence. I found a couple of articles with people claiming the same problem with their aquariums but nobody seemed to know. Very weird stuff.
 
This happened to me a few years ago. I live in a small town and knew the water treatment guy and called him and he said the new guy put to much stuff that took out the iron. He said it would clear up in a day or two. It did and I never lost a fish.

No problem. I hope it's the same for you. The whole thing was weird, but I never lost a fish. Just keep an eye on your water and do a good water change when it goes back. I can't remember if carbon took out the color or not. Wouldn't be a bad ideal to try changing out your carbon if you use it.
