FISHING SEASON 2K12!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well... i went... and i was disappointed. Water levels were up nearly a foot, it was only the 2nd time i had fished there but now understand if we get 2" of rain the lake is gonna rise that much. It's kinda downhill all around it so the water just came in from everywhere. all my spots were fully underwater. small bushes that i had been using as rod-holders were nearly full submerged. it was frustrating to say the least, i walked the 3+ miles around the lake only to find spot after spot flooded and unfishable.

frustrated i put my gear in the truck except my abu 6500 and bait bucket. walked over to the access by the parking lot and threw in. about 5 minutes later i caught a little dinky 1.5lb channel, better than getting skunked but definitely not what i had in mind for today.

First bass of the year, from a little pond in my neighborhood. About 12".

That's a huge perch. I've never even caught one over 10"!!

NC - bummer about the lake, at least it wasn't a skunk

Thanks to everyone ^^

CF...how you holding up bruh? I did see that you said you haven't fished much this year, I'm definitely following your sig suggestions, but this thing called work is definitely stressing me more.

I'm off this weekend to see if I can get that big girl that shook my rattle trap a couple of weeks ago, if I catch anything big, I'll be sure to post it up

Just set up my bait tank for the year. Not as big or flashy as some other flathead fisherman but should get the job done and store some bullheads, goldfish/carp and bluegills. Simple 30 gallon round tub with air stones pushin water through ceramic rings in bags and a powerhead for surface agitation. Maybe fill it and put a couple fish in tomorrow to get it going and will post a pic.

Ill have to post pics of my bait tank that i set up last week. Im having a hard time keeping bait in it though, too much fishing lately.

Uneventful crowded night on the pier, until this! FIRST FLATHEAD OF THE YEAR, and in march to boot.

Finally took advantage of the great weather and rode my mountain bike to the neighborhood lake. Got a 20" bowfin in breeding dress, kinda interesting seeing a native fish with such intense collors even if it was only the fins and tai

YES!!!!!! First flatty!!!! Live or cut bait? I am hoping to do some fishing tomorrow but not sure on account of rain we are getting.

bbortko, did you take a pic of that bowfin?

supposed to rain tomrrow, buddy wants to go catfish shelley lake (aka virtually no chance at anything over 5-6lbs) - havent decided yet. chance of rain is too high to hit the bass honeyhole, not worth a 30 minute drive to not be able to fish ;\
