Yep that's the one :)

Supposedly it's one of the most silent pumps you can come by, beating fluvals and eheims by miles.
Also has some nice features such as the built in siphon, or as they call it "automatic starter".
It's very large and there's a ton of media in there.

I'm hoping it'll be as good as everyone says it is

just rub a bunch of your established filter material all over the new bio media for the cannister before you start it.

Silent is nice, hard to beat the Fluvals and Eheims they are dead silent...
Siphons are convenient, when they work...nothing new there...
there is a simple way to start them up...
(make sure they are full of water before you turn them on!)

however
filtration efficiency is what I look for in a filter.

Since there is alot of trays for media,
are you going to fill it with Eheims' excellent ceramic media?
I would, that's what makes Ehiems so efficient...
turn a mid line filter into a top drawer unit...;)

Yes, i already bought the eheim media as recommended by the salesman, but i think i'm gonna save it and run with the standard tetra media at first, and then somewhere down the line when it needs a full cleaning replace it

I wouldn't waste my time with the stock media if I had Ehiem media. Remember Media doesn't need to be replaced, just the foam and floss rinsed in dechlorinated or tank water...;)

Great guide, setting up my first tank ever (a 120 gal) and using fishless cycling. But I have a few questions. Living in Ontario Canada, weather gets cold fast. The tank I am setting up is to house my baby koi's overwinter. The bad thing is its hitting to about 50 degrees farenheit over here and I'm really worried about my kois. Its been a little over a week since I started cycling and my cycle doesn't seem to be going anywhere. My koi need to get into the house fast, as when late october comes the tempertures can fluctuate close to 0 degrees. I need to get this cycle done fast as possible. I have rocks from my pond seeding into my tank, 30% of my tank water is also pond water, how else can I speed up the process? And if worse comes to worse and I bring my koi in, before the tank is cycled how can I ensure the highest chance of my fish survivng.

Thanks a lot.

Heat the tank water to mid 80's 83-85F will do...
this should always be done to do the fishless cycling anyway.

Keep after the regimen just like it says to do.
Be sure to wait until the
Ammonia is at zero ppm,
NitrItes are at zero ppm and the
NitrAtes are between 20-40 ppm
This is when you have a cycled tank...
then you can remove the heater and let the tank cool, then bring in your Koi, accliment them and you'll be good for the winter...

Remember Koi are Carp and they can withstand cold temps.
They will all but quit eating and look lethargic. They are fine.
They do not have stomachs like regular fish, what they eat goes right through them in an intestine. Koi can survive in water that has ICE frozen over the top of the water...Just be sure to provide them with circulation, and feed them a wheat diet as it gets colder...
