well formulated fire won it in the raffle and i traded him my girlfriend for the fish !
pretty good deal eh ! before the contest I never even heard of the fish , all I know is its Big !other than a royal knife I have never seen any as big as mine , he has been coming out more now that he is settled in the tank ! great fish thanks again

sorry to just bud in like this but there are actually 32 valid Gymnotous species and carapo was identified in 1758. you guys should check out this website its got some cool pics albeit the fish are dead.

BTW.. We arent talking about a common Carapo knife, we are talking about G. Tigre.. which to my surprise was identified in 2003. Last I had heard, it had no positive scientific identification, guess I was wrong.
