ok Thanks for your help, should I use something to help with cycling?Start off at the low end in case any of your fish are too weak for a heavier dose. Increase the dosage as you witness positive results with previous treatments.
OK Thanks againYou can worry with adding a cycling agent after treatment. Once treatment is complete you'll need to perform another water change and add carbon or resin to remove the remaining meds before dealing with the cycle.
ok thanksOne or the other. Don't mix treatments on the same pathogen.
I also just started up another 55 gallon tank not too long ago using media from the 125 to cycle it and have already added fish but am not seeing any signs of the disease but was wondering if I should treat this tank with something as a precautionary measure?Treat for 7-10 days after the last signs of the disease are visible. I've treated for less time before and was awarded with resurgences of the disease and having to start the treatment regimen all over again.
NOTE: If you have multiple tanks, MAINTAIN FULL ISOLATION of the diseased tank. Wash your hands regularly and apply an alcohol-based germicide. DO NOT share tools/instruments (nets, water test tubes, feed spoons, etc.) between tanks. Sterilize anything used in the diseased tank before reusing them (hoses, gravel washers, scrapers, etc.) with an aquarium disinfectant.
