Flexibacter columnaris Help!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok that is the plan, Iam starting with 300 mg per 20 gal and up the dosage gradually. I am wondering about this spot on my starphire at his anal fin which from what I have read is what occurs with Flexibacter columnaris, will this gradually go away with the oxy treatment or should I try and remove this myself?View attachment 1159786
When Iam doing the daily 50% water change I try to get the white patch off of him but it does not seem to want to come off and just wondering if this is something that will fall off eventually?

That leads to my next question , do I need to disenfect all artificial plants and driftwood, lids, filters etc..... in the tank ?
Oddball should I remove all decorations and disenfect them as well as glass covers etc... and what should I do about my driftwood if anything? Thanks

Everything in the water is being treated as well as the fish. I disinfected the covers separately because the covers don't have enough contact time with the meds. Anything above water needs to be cleaned (covers, heater tops, cords, airlines, feeders, etc.)

Thats what I was kind of thinking but wanted to make sure,Thanks. Also I lost my JD, but the gold severum, bumblebee catfish, frontosa and starphire are still hangin in there as I am still treating as you said with daily 50% water changes and it appears that the fin rot and some white splotches are improving but was wondering about a white spot near the anal fin on my starphire (I posted a pic earlier in this thread) should try to remove this or will it go away on its own ? I am assuming this is caused by the disease. It has almost been 7 days of treatments and was wondering about how long should it take before they are good to go,I know you said 7 to 10 treatments after signs of disease are gone but was wondering if too many treatments would cause too much damage on their organs?
