Sorry if they are too tough. It’s hard to gage what less knowledgeable people like me would know, and very knowledgeable people like @Milingu, and trying to find an in between is tough! Maybe I’ll do a mega round with 9 - 3 easy, 3 medium and 3 hard.

I actually quite enjoy how tough they are…wouldn’t be as fun if a quick eyeballing was enough.
 
i do think that a dead fish has a different colour, nipped fins also make it harder. Maybe its not the cichlid but the picture that makes it hard to guess. Can you upload another picture of the same fish?

would guess malawi lake ?
