How the heck did you get him to eat pellets? I've only heard of them eating live foods and occasionally fresh/thawed fish

Well when they are hungry they eat. Just by stuffing pellets in shrimp and throwing in front of him. Then eventually just pellets.

And dude charlesncharge must be fish God cause he has the answears to enerything and every question

They can be trained to eat practically anything. I keep mine on raw food, mostly shrimp. Pellets don't provide much of the nutrition they need, while meatier foods do

Feeders are thr very unresponsiable fish keepers food! They are trash. Dont use them its not worth it. And pellets dont have nutrition? Idt so. Massivor is amazing and the best supplement for big carnivors. Also danichi is really good providing way more vitimans then any frozen stuff will give. I do use shrimp as a treat tho

Can i just ask is he still alive and in freshwater? if so how long has your fish been in a full freshwater setup?

Yeah fish is still alive. Swimming around and happy. Always in full freshwater. I had for 6months then gave to a friend a month ago. Im not saying im right or anything. Just saying this is my exsperiance with them

Yeah, if you want to do feeders please atleast breed your own so you aren't another victim of introduced disease. If you want to do live offer a varied diet, not just comets. Do shrimp, crafish, black worms, earth worms, etc...

I only feed mine feeders on occasion to keep him happy. IMO, A fish like that would much rather hunt his food than just have it handed to him.
Most of what I feed mine is raw foods, mostly shrimp. All of which I let soak in a vitamin supplement while defrosting.
As for pellets; you're right about Massivor. Normally when I think of pellet food, I think of the cheap, empty, food designed only to fill the fish. I've never used any quality pellet foods before, so that was my mistake.

As for keeping toadfish in freshwater. They can be kept in full FW for some time, more or less depending on several factors. 6 months is not uncommon, neither is a year or two. Some people have had success with long-term FW toads also, but that is very rare.
The only way to ensure a happy, healthy toadfish is to keep it in brackish water, or even full marine like I do.

Is it possible? Yes, but very unlikely. It's very risky, and that's why most peoples' die; it's a risk I surely wouldn't want to take though

FOUND IT, Info from PFK Mag:

Toadfishes are members of the order Batrachoidiformes, which are predominantly marine. However, two species are known from the Amazon and are found in freshwater hundreds of miles from the sea. One of them, the Prehistoric monster fish, Thalassophryne amazonica, is a popular aquarium oddball and sometimes spawns in captivity.

Correct, however...these guys are TINY. The combo would never work with an oscar.

I agree with you! Also soaking food in vitamins like vitachem has been very benificial to my fish keeping. Healthier happier more beautiful fish.

Thats max size. Snookn was selling them a while back. I almost bought 3 or 4. They hide ALL the time too. Buried in the sand with only those little eyes poking out.
