You can’t tell the difference by looking at it. Urs is likely a fl gar since u live in Sri Lanka. They are bred in Asia and made available.

Still very small gar. Was sold to me as a spotted gar can someone tell me if this is true. I dont have a good camera hope this is enough pictures.

Unless you know its exact catch location, then it's most likely a florida gar.

So about a months ago I bought about a 8" Gar from a Fish Store. They thought it was a longnose Gar and it does have a extra long Snout, but now I'm thinking it possible could be a Florida Gar.
