Gar Identification - Post your Gar to be ID'd HERE!!

This is my first post so not sure if im doing it right or not but I've been a member for awhile. I got this gar from a guy at work who was keeping him in a 50gal. corner tank so I talked him into giving it to me for my 220gal. until it out grows mine. He told me it was an aligator gar but I'm not sure if you can even get a aligator gar I'm thinking florida. Any info on what it is and care would be great. Sorry about photo I took it with IPOD...
