Is the one in the back with the speckled face a orange head as well?

I would say they grow pretty slow... Mine had trouble getting food because other fish always grabbed it before he could, so I'm probably not the best source for this information.

Thanks. They are a good species for anyone interested in eartheaters, active and hardy. Most true Geophagus are going to grow around 1/2" per month, I'm not sure about 'G'. steindachneri in particular, I have never kept them.

I picked up some gymnogeo el norte from a member on here and it has some really nice coloring. I'll try to post some pics for you....:grinno:
