I remember there was a fish but I can't remember what it looked like. G. abalios are fairly far away from Para Brazil though.

That's my Geo. red head tapajos .. that's the horny male with the female side by side.. they look fabulous with breeding colors on..

Could you post that pic? Would love to compare the look of the 2 :).. One other thing to note is that these guys have very yellow pelvic fins!
I'm acclimating some new geo's that just arrived this morning. I'll find hat pic and post it for you shortly once they are in tank. Sorry I didn't mean to derail your thread bro :(

EDIT, this is the only pic I could find. The caudal pattern isn't as close as I thought it was. It's been a few years:

Thanks for the effort, Justin!

It does resemble my Geo neambi pretty much. Lateral barring and tail spottings. The facial markings (streaks of blue on the gill plates + under the eye look seem similar as well)



I'm starting to really guess that the sp. Maicuru are in fact Geo neambi.
