German Rams

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That size is fine for pvc.
Dithers are good for the main tank, but it probably isn’t necessary in a temporary tank. Main concern should be selling the bass and making sure the rams are healthy.

Rams have been eating a little of tropical crisps and vibra bites. I am trying to sell the bass as soon as possible and can I put pantyhose on the canister filter when they go in?

So today I found one german ram had died. The night before it was just at the top of the water looking straight up but still breathing. It was fine the day before yesterday so i am confused. He was in such bad shape last night I could even touch it and it wouldn't even move just stay in that position. Any ideas on what happened bc all my other Rams are in great health.

Stress then sickness (whether parasite or bacterial) then death. Looking straight up is a sign that it is trying to avoid another aggressive cichlid.

When buying groups of fish, it is natural to expect some deaths due to aggression, possible disease, or general poor health.
Keep an eye out either way.
I agree aggression was likely the cause, probably being harassed by the dominant male and hiding it as long as it could.
