(Photo removed to avoid unnecessary duplication)

that's a bugger about the cannister's, could you import them, would they plug into your power points...
Importing them might be feasible. The power points here are at 240 V so there might be some adjustments to be done... but the real issue would be the shipping costs.

Lou why don't you just build a canister filter out of say a 8, 16 or 32 gallon trash can buy the motor/pump housing from a dealer like Eheim and just retro fit it as the top and bingo! Or build a sand filter.

That's not a bad shout at all:D
Hmmm... indeed this is not a bad call... must get some plans to see how to do that... any leads?

crazy clowntang, Brother Tequila's GGs are Kamikaze ones... very rare and extremely expensive. I suggest you jump on this wonderful opportunity to get them for a good price. :)

Contact say Ehiems or Ocean Clears parts department for Ocean Clear you would just require a container that is roughly 9.75 inches across and threaded. Because there canister top just sits a top a large O-ring and is screwed in place with a secondary hard plastic locking Ring. Ocean Clear Canisters are just canisters you buy a pump seperately, that's what makes them so good, that and the center filter partition and you canget tops that except U.V. or Heaters.

Take a look here at parts, for ideas, also look into pool filters and pumps. If you need more info let me know and I'll just call them up, and pump them for info.
