LOU, look'n good - We did sex your before right, the top pic is the female though still a bit young and the bottom pic, a much larger fish is the male. And the fish in the middle is still undecided or from the U-Gai

Looking good, Lou. Even the one with the deformed jaw seems to be doing much better:)

FYI Your new RTGG is NOT a male. I'm sure that it's a female, coloration and the shape and form of the mouth point to female. Males have a much broader jaw and regardless of food fed maintain a richer coloration than this fish. But I am basing my opion more on the shape of the Jaw especially the lower jaw. It's pointy and narrow like the females that I have, not broad and rounded like the males I have. Plus at 25cm aka 10 inches the bump on the head would be more pronouced than what it is.

Ok again I have four 2 males and 2 females all have pointed dorsel fins. Rounded fins, pointed fins don't matter, the shape of the jaw and the coloration are what matter. Trust me on this one too. The jaw must be broad and rounded to be a male, and narrow and pointed to be a female. Plus on a 10 inch aka 25cm specimen with that little coloration...... IT IS A FEMALE Period!
Also, what the U-Gai?

Hmmm, throw up the quotes of what I said before but leave out the photos that I made those calls on. Plus back then I had DSL service @ home and could compare by glancing over my shoulder, at the office I gotta do it fro memory.

Question what is the size of the fish in the first and last pics? To me the top pic seems to still be a much smaller fish, 5~6 inches maybe? And the last photo the fish seems to be much larger around twice the size of the first fish 10~12 inches? The lips/lower Jaw on the fish on the bottom compared to the top pic is much much bigger. So either the fish in all three shots aren't of equal size or....actually looking closely now the upper lip is more pronounced than the lower in the lower shot. You are correct the RTGG in the lower shot is also a female or at least for now it is through the fishes size plays a role in a different sexing.

Don't worry bout it just a bad joke, that went way over the heads of those it was intended for.

The photos you made the call on are on page 107, last post up from the bottom:

Hope that helps:)

The fish in the last picture is much bigger that the others... about 3 times their size.. :)

Ok I stand corrected, the fish in the lower shot is Female, I was comparing it's jaw area to the other fish in the set. Males have a lower jaw that pretrudes out from the upper jaw sort of like a scoop. The upper lip/jaw of the fish in the lower pic is larger/thicker in appearance not the lower jaw. I only took a quik look, and in comparision to the other fish pictured made a mistake or mis-call.

I guess now I gotta mumble down before that guy that spends three months too dig a hot tub in the ground in his outback. Rome was built in less time.;)
