Is there anyway to retract snail mail once sent?
;)

BTW I didn't include the other 30 pictures took in the same time frame;)
 Fortunately, no! :D And practice makes perfect, my friend! The lady managed to get 1 out of 30... that's great for a start! :)

A kettle and the bath is what we use on large pieces
Hmmm... I need to think about this...

This doesn't look too bad :) Now, the key is to wait for George to be in the right position in a place where there's nothing obtrusive... Photography is above all about a lot of patience, my friend! :) Once again, Kudos to the lady... ;)

Lou - just place the branch in the bathroom tub, fill to cover the greatest amount of wood and begin filling the tub with straight hot water, then start water boiling on the stove and pour the boiling water over the exposed areas of the branch. Soak for about 4~6 hours then rotate the piece and soak overnight,. Remember to weight the piece to keep it down, if the piece of wood is fully dead and rotten, you should be able to soak it enough in 24 hrs to obtain neutral buoyancy. If the piece is really difficult to cover in water, like my 5FT grapevine piece was then just take the piece and a few dollars to your local Carwash and offer the guy that steams up the tires a few bucks if he would blast your wood for a few minutes, pressurized steam will do the trick PDQ! Plus the steam will clean up all the loose bark, that you don't want in the tank anyway.
That seems to be a very good idea! Thanks a lot, Tequila Sensei :)

... but I'm not too sure I'm understanding the bit about the steam at the car wash...

At most Carwashes they use a steam gun too help loosen dirt and grease from your rims. Nothing beats hot steam for penetrating wood, grease, dirt, and flesh. So if you take the wood down to your local Carwash and haver them blast it a few times, I dought you'll ever have to worry about any nasties getting into your tank. Plus I sure that the wood will take better to water after a good deep penetrating steamming.

I can't see her taking time out to read the new instruction manual, space shuttles are less complicated.

Oh yes, it's finally here:headbang2
