Yeah he made the transition to the grow out tank successfully, and he can hold his own there with all the hazzards of his neighborhood...Big Cats, 3 Aros GT and an RTC that woke up and is ALWAYS hungry...he'll be fine in the community I do believe, with all the room he'll have...If he gets to being a bastard and starts to cause unrest, He'll be back in grow-outville...;)View attachment 354625

and for size refference that is one of my 16-17" Silvers

He hits the tape measure at:♠ 9" long x 6" tall x .50 - .75" wide

Just thought that you would like to know, your RTGG looks to be a Girl not a male. Males don't have the pointy narrow face, that yours has. You mite wanna rethink a name for her.

you think it's a female RTGG?
Is that what I have?

Well,
I guess it is,
what it is...
and if indeed it is a Female,
then she has a really cool boyz name of:
Pork
Chop
Hannibal

or

PCH for short...

Yes your RTGG is a female, males have a more steam shovel lower jaw shape or something more resembling a cartoon bull dog lower jaw - without the teeth showing.

How old, would you say a RTGG has to be when the RED starts appearing,

if the water parameters are supportive?

Well thats the other reason I say yours is female, the lack of coloration. My males had much more color even when they where just a few inches than yours does now. When I say a few inches i'm talking 5"~6", but by the time they hit 10~12 inches they were freaking beauties. Not bragging or anything but my females have more coloration now than yours does. But you should keep in mind that I fed mine alot of color food as they grew up. (Some Japanese company Red Parrot color enhancer pellets).
