Yeah he made the transition to the grow out tank successfully, and he can hold his own there with all the hazzards of his neighborhood...Big Cats, 3 Aros GT and an RTC that woke up and is ALWAYS hungry...he'll be fine in the community I do believe, with all the room he'll have...If he gets to being a bastard and starts to cause unrest, He'll be back in grow-outville...;)View attachment 354625

and for size refference that is one of my 16-17" Silvers

He hits the tape measure at:♠ 9" long x 6" tall x .50 - .75" wide

yeh, i agree, this aint a RTGG.. i say this becuase i dnt think the body is not elongated enough to be a RTGG

gg vs pacu

who would win?

my fishies been battling :(

I would think it would be the Pacu, but then again it would depend on many things like the size of the Pacu, or the size of the GG and type. While GG have some pretty impressive teeth (and I should know, I was ripped up by a set even after the fish was dead).

It is my belief that Pacu's teeth are far larger and stronger, hench more dangerous than GG. GG teeth are more for slashing flesh, such as ripping off the faces of weaker smaller fish that they are feeding on. where as Pacu's teeth are stronger, used for cracking open nuts, slicing through seed pods, flesh and bones, of similar size fish. I have seen Pacu's that had what appeared to be insizer teeth, like those of a small child.

my money is on the GG given the tank size most are kept in wouldn't allow for the Pacu to maneuver very well, but my GG seems to be able to flick and move pretty fast...

I have a 12 inch rtgg that I think is a male currently. If I took some pics would someone here be able to confirm sex for me? He currently resides in a 180 with some tinfoil barbs and a small albino Oscar. The Asian fish shop by my house has a few 8 inch rtgg for sale with different looking faces and body shapes. I want to add another GG to my tank and thought that it would be a little easier if I had a pair instead of a same sex pairing. Any feed back welcomed and I can take pics tonight. Thanks.
