BAS does tend to be hit and miss when it comes to certain species, but they have massive scope when they have everything in, sometimes you do have to pay a bit more but then again you could have to travel that much further to find the fish you are looking for. George came from BAS, £80, only gg of any variety in the area at the time.

Is fish inc on the same scale and worth a visit? We've got mates in Leeds that we see about once a year. We could drop down if it's that good next time we go over.

I'm sure the wife would enjoy the snake pass on the way home! (she doesn't drive BTW)
Its an excellent shop but not as many tanks or range of fish, i saw a EEGG when i visted BAS back in august.

Forgot to ask, are they your oscars or was that taken before you picked the rtgg up?
Those are my oscars and thats him in my tank.

If you saw just the one eegg in August then you've actually met George. When we picked him up in October they said he'd be there for about 3-4 months and they'd only been feeding him sparingly for obvious reasons.

Small world!

I believe 'neoprodigy' said it best. OMFG!

Final test.. as you walk up the ramp to the fish, about 3/4 of the way to the right, last tank or so on the left hand wall???

For all watching here is a rough diagram of the layout only bruce will understand this unless you've been there:

EEGG is Osphronemus exodon, elephant ear giant gourami aka George

BAS, is British aquatic superstore based in Bolton, England

Basically there is a big hill in the north of England, Bruce lives one side I live on the other, nothing apart from one house and the M62 between. BAS is on my side of the hill. If Bruce confirms what I'm 99% sure of via the pic then he got a pic of George 2 months before we got him at the store.....

I think that this thread should be made a sticky.

Looking nice...

Forgot to say, looks like the oscars don't mind the new tank mates??
