And this is the magic stuff I used. It is optically transparent and water proof. Make sure you clean all finger prints before gluing. They will be visible through the glass and glue. Silicone can be used too.

Sweet... I like the DIY handles too.

This is a great How-TO...you can vary the % of glass for the front lid and any piping in the rear. And again the handles are such a nice custom touch.

Ok, now for the un-initiated...pay no attension to CHOMPERS masochistic ways and wear gloves (non-slip if possible) and eye protection for this.

Oh, and CHOMPERS...if you don't re-count how many edges a square has I'm going to tell your professor.

Great job Chompers. Those custom handles are particularly sweet. Nice to NOT see a manufacturers logo on them.

ok, twelve:WHOA: I took the short cut and was thinking faces. That explains why my handles have six sharp edges.

That was from the cutting oil. The "beads" are droplets of oil that dripped off of the cutting wheel. The actual score is so fine that the camera has difficulty picking it up. And I use a 10 MP camera.

Cutters are cheap, so I would get a new one. I had an old one and I would break more than half of what I tried to cut. Then I did some reading into glass cutting and sprang for a new one. It made all the difference in the world. You still need to practice on some scrap glass to get the pressure right. The key is to listen to the sizzle of it cutting. Crackling, grinding, or popping is a sure sign of bad things ahead.
