Very good job.
Foot notes; Do NOT buy glass cutters made in china.
Any oil will do ; It does something magic with tri-axial stress to make the score mark.
Tapping the glass briskly, with that ball on the end of the cutter will help; on a very good score, the glass will fall apart at the score.
"old" glass is much more difficult to cut .
To sand the sharp edges ,you want SiC (silicon carbide) paper available at any auto parts/paint store ( often called "wet or dry"). Some "fine" grinding wheels will also smooth the corners.

This is awesome advice for a DIY glass lid. I was considering a really expensive acrylic at the local menards but after I read this I'm goin with glass!!! I will be making the lid for an odd sized aquarium, 60" X 18 1/2" X 25". I plan on cutting 4 pieces: (2) 29 1/4" X 5 1/2" and (2) 29 1/4" X 8", leaving room for filter tubes and heaters in the back. Anyone know good places to get glass from and how much it would cost.
