Green Bay Snook Tankmates.

I dont know about the oscar they do get quite pissy when they hit like seven inches and if any of your fish are smaller than it it will take advantage of them and exploit the fact that he is bigger.

I think the baysnooks will be bigger than him by then. And the GT will be pissy as to the oscar i'd say. My mate says that if you keep the oscar in with other cichlids in average sized tanks they tend to keep to themselves? I guess more trial and error in play.

Awesome, I love the look of green bay snooks. The oscar should work well, the green terror you will just have to wait and see. It is very likely to go crazy at 7 inches and have to be removed.

Have you thought about severum, uaru, Heckilie, other large Geo's (altifrons, brazilensis, ect) as potential tankmates?

Good luck and post some more pics when they start coloring up.

i guess it all depends on the individual fish cuz my oscar is a little sh*t disturber haha

Yeah, but since this is a CA cichlid that is fairly agro, I wanted something along those lines. Brazilensis sounds good though, a nice big rougher cichlid. I may also try Threadfin Acaras if it goes that way. I really want the GT, Oscar and Umbee before anything else.

My mates breeding pair that's 8" didn't touch a 3-4" gold sev in the same tank, so it must.

I hope your not planning an umbee for the same tank as the snooks, or any other fish for that matter. They don't play well with others. The snooks are not really aggressive, they just have large mouths.

i think an umbee would be out of the question in both tank size and temperment...

just my opinion though...

just bought a couple of snooks myself...

And no doubt they will in the 4' :headbang2
Snooks get about 16'', as w/ oscars. What are the demensions of the tank? From what I understand, snooks grow pretty fast too.

About the same growth rate as an oscar. Mine's about 13", probably had him a little over a year (from 5"). And that was with him breeding a few times. His growth slowed down during that time.
