Can anyone supply with any info on the breeding of Green Sunfish. Not much info is available for them online. I gave my buddy peepa a pair of them that I had found a petsmart feeder tank and they ended up spawning. He didnt notice any fry till after completing a water change and was only able to net ad save like 10-15 wwigglers. How often will they spawn and what should we do next time that there is a brood? Thanks in advance for all replies

Yeah, I screwed up and probably lost a bunch of fry.
They are super tiny. I did manage to save a few.
The papa is a beauty. I will try to get some pics.
 
Wow, from reading that article it seems like your buddy got quite lucky. It looks like it took the author a while to get them to breed.

Wow, would they have them in CAlifornia PETCO's?
Are they pretty even at a little size?
 
I found them in with the large comet feeders. Just look in any large tank of large comets for something that looks a little different, I thought that they were some kind of cichlid at first. They are nice looking even as juvis. I guess that people in fish stores find all kinds of wierd stuff mixed with the feeders, tadpoles, bass, bluegill, as well as other sunfish. They grow like weeds as well. Nice job on raising them chancho!!! We'll look for some more tomorow!!

Not Really
They do seem to grow really fast if you feed them twice a day.
Blood worms (frozen) and sinking algae wafers (medium size) are eaten quickly. The male can eat a chunk of frozen blood worms the size of a nickle in one gulp. :D

They don't stock them like they do their normal species. If they are there then they are there by mistake. You just have to keep your eyes peeled. You can purchase them online though.
