Good luck with breeding them. I had a one of my longear build a nest and aggressively defend it but there were no females to be had so he eventually abandoned it.

Yeah, you can find all kinds of natives mixed in at pet stores on accident. I see killifish quite a bit.

I found them in with the large comet feeders. Just look in any large tank of large comets for something that looks a little different, I thought that they were some kind of cichlid at first. They are nice looking even as juvis. I guess that people in fish stores find all kinds of wierd stuff mixed with the feeders, tadpoles, bass, bluegill, as well as other sunfish. They grow like weeds as well. Nice job on raising them chancho!!! We'll look for some more tomorow!!

haha, I've seen Koi in the small comet goldfish area. A real nice looking platinum ogon!

They are from hatcheries and kept in ponds. You never know whats gonna end up in a pond. Things sneak in and breed and boom, another suprise for us to find at petco. I was gonna feed those greenies of peepas to my lentic and monos, but he wanted to raise them up. Good choice I say. Very nice lookin fish. Comparible to any cichlid I think. Oh yeah, nice pics of your fish folks, keep em comin!!!
