Guess what monster fish this is

well, if no one else comes up with a better one, then guppy you can bring us the next contender. honestly, i don't have a positive id on this fish. I've corresponded with a few taxonomist and they have concluded that this is a new specie. I've had over 10 specimens all looked the same, so I don't think its a leucistic nandus nandus. Anyone else? If not, go ahead and move on!

I have checked Burma, nepal, india, and bangladesh, Nandus nandus is the closest I have found. An undescribed species? Cool, get in touch with the Smithsonian and maybe the can get it a listing, you might be able to name it!

That would be a freshwater mandarin fish, Siniperca scherzeri, from Korea. It also comes in a golden variety which is highly protected.

I knew that was to easy, from now on I'm gonna stick to obscure fish like the Ca Dong. Your turn, by the way, it is also found in parts of China and northern Vietnam.

I was just in Korea a few weeks ago and they had a golden one on display at a public aquarium we went to. Very beautiful. Too bad it's illegal to catch or own one there. I'll see if I can't dig something up.
