It's been set up for over a year easy. The water is hardHow long has the tank been setup? Is it cycled?
Do you have soft water or hard water?

Everything parameter wise was good just a few days ago, I do a water change every week but I'll check againBigger tank might help, they might also just need a little more time, 1 month is not all that long. I would also ask what your water parameters are- convicts are not picky about pH or temp, but if there is high nitrate or something like that they may be uncomfortable
I have been doing this for the past 2 weeks, isn't it suppose to trick them into thinking it's rain so then they breed?id put the temp up a few degrees and do a cooler water change every week!
yes cichlids live in seasonal areas at home! rain/dry spells and change in temps! But if your convicts don't wont to play ball with temp changes/cooler water changes! Maybe you just aint got a compatible pair! maybe mix things up and put in another female or male till they pair! and sell other spare fish!I have been doing this for the past 2 weeks, isn't it suppose to trick them into thinking it's rain so then they breed?
Positive, I could post some pictures
