I’ve definitely heard of this working and I may try it. But what I honestly think I’ll do is just move the male after they breed. They only get along for a few days before they’re trying to kill one another.

That's the thing, divider doesn't give the male that window of time. You'd be surprised how far away they can spawn. I've had males somehow fertilize eggs on a rock like 4" from the divider. Plus you can still move the male after they spawn and take the divider out to give the female the tank.
Yup I recommend this plastic chicken wire. Order the right size for your tank. Wrap it around a terra cotta plate and cut it too size and zip tie it up. Put the female in there in your tank and depending on the size of the female hrp she can’t get out or she can freely get in and out when she needs too, to get away from the male. My smaller females will sort of squeeze through the hex holes sideways.
Part 2, it didn't let me upload all the files the first time and I don't remember which ones I wanted to post, so here's 11 more just in case some of these are duplicates.
Update on the fry as well, the fry are starting to get their barring, all of them have crazy misbar patterns, and most of them more or less have some version of their dad's.
Here are my hidden gems that I didn't know would turn out into gems. Well, I call them gems bc they look good enough for me.
I bought two of these from my local fish store a few months back at super small sizes as Honduran red points. I didn't pay much attention to them bc I was dedicating most of my space and time on my Ken Davis HRP group. After all of our discussions about how Ken's HRP looking more like convict mixed, I decided to scrap those and pay more attention to these two. I'm glad I did because they turned out to be great looking fish. Regardless if they're true Honduran red points or not. What are y'all's thoughts on them? This is a pair as they've laid eggs once already. The female's dorsal fin has unfortunately been like that ever since I bought her. The male used to be smaller than the female but has turned out to be quite the brute. I love his body structure (although I don't know if HRP are known to have such a stocky body build)? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I second @HybridFinatic, that male is CHUNKY
Males do tend to get that fridge shape with age, but you said this took a few months? What are you feeding them/tank size/wc routine?

Sorry, I say a few months but I've had them since March. So about half a year now. They were juvenile sized when I first got them. This male was actually a runt and didn't bloom into the chunky guy he is until I removed all other bigger fish. The electric blue acaras and angelfish had just been placed into the HRP tank (55 gallon tank) for about 2 weeks now. Before these fish were put into the tank, it was the HRP and my clown loaches. I feed them a mixture of omega one pellets, different variety of ken's cichlid pellets, live grindal worms that I culture, live mosquito larvae, and occasional bloodworms. As for water changes, I do about 20% (two 5 gallon buckets so 10 gallons total) water changes twice weekly.
Today:
Fry are growing well. Slowly... But they're starting to get their barring and iridescence. The misbarring on both parents isn't too crazy, the male has connected bars on one side/a split one on the other, and the female has a split bar, but all the fry have crazy swirly and broken bars. All of them have their father's connected ("n") bar though.
