How’s the weather?

-16 C this AM, -24C with wind. 3/-11F for those south of the border. I like to take a short stroll outside in a t-shirt when it's like this, along the lines of a polar dip, sans the water. lol

It’ll knock any sweat right off of ya.

Here we have the opposite thing where you walk out of an airconditioned building, into a hot parking lot, in the summer.

Gonna be 55 today and in the mid 60s for the next week, so maybe I really am going to get to paint.

-26C actual temp right now, windchill -38C. I am soooo thankful I got all my snowblowing done yesterday when it was just a few degrees below zero. :)

You know winter is here when a dog whose coat of fur comes from his Labrador heritage only wants to play in the snow for maybe 10 minutes before he decides it's time to go back inside. Normally I am the one who decides that we are done; not today!

An hour so after that I had to go out to re-fill the birdfeeders; I offered Duke the chance to come with, and when I opened the door he just looked outside and then up at me as if to say "That's okay; I'm good inside..." :)

Well that’s my couch potato of a dog as well. It’s almost 50°F here but he doesn’t want to go outside.

Duke's far from a couch potato; he's a long way past the pup stage at 9 years of age, but he still loves to go out and chase a frisbee or a squirrel, and it's only during the coldest parts of the year that he ever decides he's had enough.

Normally, when I am doing something that requires constantly going in and out of the house, he runs outside when I go out, and then runs back in as soon as I go in...and then if I go back out 60 seconds later he's just as anxious to come out again. We're inseparable! :)

Mine doesn’t get too excited unless a cat is in the yard or there’s food involved.

The forecast for heavy rain and windy with gusts to 43 mph happened last night. Our power was out for hours for the third time in a week and a half. The river rose significantly, and there are still flood watch warnings. Our normally beautiful river is angry-looking, and lots of trees and logs are surfing in the river.

Our usually beautiful river:

Our river today (turn your volume up to hear how angry she is):

Threw the Christmas tree out the back last night with a view to chopping it up this morning. There was no snow in sight. Opened the curtains this morning to this!!

Christmas tree ain't getting chopped up today!

I'll take all your snow, but you get my heat. Fair trade?

I think we have a deal, lol. Those temps are just about perfect. Mid twenties is like the temperature Goldilocks zone for me.

Those are evening temps though aren't they? It'll be a lot hotter during the day.
