How’s the weather?

The next 10 days weather according to my phone. This is the first time this year that we've had a prolonged sub zero night time temperature period, along with forecast snow.
All I can say, which is very much in line with the seasonal Xmas song by Michael Bublé......"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas".

Minus 25C - 30C here at night the past few days, warmer during the day and with slightly warmer temps forecast. A friend and I just got back from two nights of winter camping, ostensibly as a scouting expedition for our pre-Christmas elk hunt. I think in reality all we were doing is proving that we are too old for this crap!
Everything's blanketed in white now, but it is only a thin layer, perhaps an inch except for areas where it drifts. We tore down our little spike camp just as the sky was lightening this morning, in beautiful still air; a couple hours later, I pulled in to my driveway and the wind was howling, light snow coming down sideways. Winter is most definitely here.

Well that's confirmed then. Taking into consideration those temperatures, and the fact you were camping out in them.....you are actually certified insane!! Lol.
I went out on my new mountainbike the other day and it was about 1°C, and although I was suitably attired, I was frozen. So that's something else that we can confirm......I am actually a certified girl!! Lol.
Today is looking a little cloudier, but otherwise similar to yesterday, here's yesterday: UV index of 15 at one point, 11 is supposed to be 10 minutes to burn, so...Ouch?
Camping/hunting in -30C sounds rough as hell! Just thinking bout it makes me shiver a bit, max camping- I've done is like -15C and It was miserable ...View attachment 1508101

It's around -5C right now, going to do some deer hunting on the weekend. Actually so rough, tried shooting at the local outdoor range(and ofc I forgot my real winter gloves, so had to use thin ones). My hands were absolutely freezing through them. I bet my AR 15 handguard would stick to my hand if I was barehanded...
