Woke up this morning to this. It was barely above freezing last night but today is quite mild, and raining, so all this snow will be gone in a few hours.

And this weekend we also have storm Burt hitting the UK. Apparently it's meant to be quite a nasty one. No bike riding for me!!!

I'm about ready to invoke the final solution and cut these damned trees down!
No! Don't be cutting trees down krich! In the UK you need permission to cut trees down of a certain size and species.

However, one tree we don't need permission to cut down is the Leylandii conifer. People buy them as small cute conifers to use as a hedge or barrier in their gardens.

But they are insanely fast growers, and get huge. They cause untold grief between neighbours.

The picture below shows what happens after a few years when you have a little cute front garden Leylandii hedge!!
