I can see why that monster would cause an autumn leaf problem krich!! Yikes!

However, I'm pretty confident it was there before your house, so the tree gets ownership of its position!

Have you thought of moving your house!! Lol.
Oh I would love to be able to move my entire house...basement and all!

And...it's so cute to hear Esox in his subtropical paradise wailing about the horrors of snow removal!
No DIY shovelling or snowploughs in blighty to get rid of snow, we have something much better......RAIN! And lots of it, it hasn't stopped all day today, no wonder that snow disappeared in quick order.

The only worry now though is that the wind is getting up, a lot. Storm Burt is coming!!

Where's S SilverArowanaBoi when you need him? I was going to comment on how delicious that rabbit looked, but...it's just not the same now... :)

Actually, on second thought it does look like a jack...pretty pathetic as tablefare.

Ah....all the same, jacks and snowshoes, all hares and none of them eat well...

Snowshoes in my neck of the woods are well on their way to being pure white. I'm surprised yours are still brown.

Either way...still taste like crap... :)

I read recently that if you were unfortunate enough to get stuck in the wilderness but were able to hunt hares or rabbits, and they were your only source of food, that you'd die just as quickly from starvation as you would if you didn't eat nothing at all!!

The reason is, and I never knew this, is that rabbit and hare are possibly the leanest meat of any animal. The fat content is virtually zero. In a survival situation the fat is what you'd need more than the protein apparently.

So even though you were eating you'd starve to death!!!

Could that be remotely true?

Yes, not sure why this fella has been so slow to convert? I see a dozen or more hares every day coming and going to work, and most are 90+% white at this point.

Not exactly. The human body is designed to burn fat as fuel, it's only been in modern times that we have changed to using carbs. A high protein diet, long term, sana any fat or carbs is going to produce negative results. This short vid explains the process.

Thanks for posting that RD. Very interesting. I'm not planning on getting stuck in the wilderness anytime soon but if I did, I now know that when I snag myself a rabbit in the barren terrain I also need to get myself some choice vegetables and maybe rice and pasta too!! Lol.
