i want to get a dojo loach with a bichir and some small cichlids like firemouths/convicts. i want to know how big they get so i can grow one. they are too much like worms so i am scared. thx.

Dojo loaches would not be a good mix. Dojo loaches are extremely peaceful and easily picked on by other fish.
A male reaches 4" and I have heard of people who had 12" females.
Fire eels reach 3 feet.

Not worth the risk IMO. I'd just give the dojos their own tank. Your bichir can swallow them like noodles.
IME, dojos get picked on very quickly. They need peaceful tankmates because they will act like they have peaceful tankmates even if they don't.. Couple minutes like that in a tank like you're talkin' and they'll be goners..
Also, I have seen several over the 5/6" range, seems to be a matter of husbandry. All kept with peaceful fish, clean water/lots of wcs, smooth sandy substrate, no overstocking.
If you aren't going to keep them with peaceful fish, don't bother. They stress easily, convicts and firemouths?? Come on! The convicts when they think they should breed will bully almost anything to death!
Get seperate tanks or pick the ones you know you can handle
