Yeah i bought one of these from the local pet store and they didn't know what it was. They didn't have a sign for it so they sold it to me for $4 and originally i didn't even know what kind of catfish it was but obviously i found it out. I was just curious how large it will grow? As of right now it's stuck in my cichlid tank and suprisingly it bothers no one and no one bothers it, but it will be getting moved into a proper tank eventually...

i've heard countless stories about catfish always attacking and trying to eat the other fish in the tank

and you aren't the only one. In the suncat max size deal there are 2 different sources. One is from the max size every caught which is 18" and another is from a trusted man (who's name escapes me) that has written scientific books over fish and he says they max out around 12".
i personally haven't even seen a full 12" specimin (although i have a good sized around 9" er)
i just moved ship out my tank were my suncat never came out of was surprised how much he has grown, just over 6inch but alot fatter than when put him in tank, was about 3inch when put in tank few month ago
