i wasn't plannig on leaving him with them. i am going to put them in there on like cup/bowls.

That's easiest, if you're looking to get the most out of your batches. Obviously, not easiest from an upkeep perspective.

I would keep the fry together as long as you possibly can. For me, I'd pull males or females who were starting trouble first and remove others as necessary. Eventually, you'll get to the point where most of the females will live together peacefully in the grow-out tank. What are you planning on using for housing fry? Are you ready for daily water changes? :WHOA:

That's why there's something called culling. That's when your larger beast fish come in handy. ;)

Absolutely, but it takes a while before you know what to cull. Often, the fish with the nicest finnage out of a batch aren't the fastest growers.

My very first betta spawn was well over 200 fry. My clawed frogs ate very well for a long time.

Raising betta fry is easy, when you've got the proper food for them. Newly hatched betta fry are really too small to take BBS. Vinegar eels and microworms always worked for me. Within a couple of weeks, the fry will be big enough to start on BBS, but those first couple of weeks after absorbing their yolk, are critical and the time when most folks lose their fry.

You've also got to be sure to do regular very tiny water changes on the fry tanks. I used to use a piece of hard airline tubing and attach a piece of regular airline to it to make a tiny siphon I could use to clean up any uneaten food and waste from the bottom of the tank. I'd then drip back in replacement water.

Can you explain the acronyms for noobs like me, thanks :)
