Yesterday I came home from work to a dead Filament Barb and ripped fins on a few cichlids. The Festae was savagely attacking the others when they approached....she and the Jag were guarding eggs. You know me, I have no interest in hybrids even if they're going to be Manacondas. I have even less enthusiasm for dead fish so I destroyed the eggs. You should have seen the feeding frenzy as I scattered them around. I fended off the parental attacks with a net while I took care of it. I felt awful afterwards but it had to be done.

This morning when I went to the tank at feeding time and all the cichlids except the two ex-parents came to the front. They just sat there in their spot glaring at me like they're thinking, "I hate you". I wonder if they're intelligent enough to remember? I'm sure.

:(:(:(:(

You have disrupted their instinctual behavior, and now you must pay!

That's pretty crazy. I'm not a big fan of hybrids either but I have to wonder what the heck that combo would look like.

I did a yahoo search and this is the first ones I found. Festae x Jaguar is known as a Manaconda. Don't ask me how they came up with the name. It's kinda dumb imo.

This example is really curved....deformed?

Wow, what a wild looking fish. I see what you mean about being curved. Still, it's a striking looking fish even if it's a "freak". :D

Well you could have at least kept sum for me :naughty: Well i have seen some of those striking fish but it surely wasnt deformed and was a bute.

the fish is in the process of making a turn... it has nothing to do with being deformed :D

fish are incapable of complex emotions such as lasting hatred, didn't you know that? :D

just rearrange the tank fixtures and everyone will be ok again
