i know this is a long reply, but whatever, its all informative lol.
ok so what length x width tank should i get to keep them in for life? smallest please, im downsizing right now and getting rid of fish because college is complicating this hobby for me and iv got to keep it small. i already have 4 betta tanks and a community tank, my bichirs and a peacock eel are having to go; so now im just trying to see if i can accommodate a small banjo only tank as well. if not ill just stick the one banjo i have now back in the community and save that dream for later.
lets treat it like a monster and go with monster rules, tank W x L should be 1.5xW X 4xL of the adult fish, so a 5" fishie would get a 20" L x 8" W tank right? well a 10 gallon almost meets that. its 18"L x 10"W. if those 2" on length really matter i can build a tank to specs. iv already got the silicone i just need to find a way to brace it. of course thats for one fish, what about 3? or 5? a 20 long might be a bit much, heck a 15gallon is pushing it but i might be able to pull it off. however im serious when i say a ten gallons is really about my limit at this time. thoughts?
oh and yes, this fish does not like to come out during the day. moonlighting will be a must, thats been the plan all along.
