WHICH SPECIES?
hes got the little black dots under his pectorals like scombs do.
when i saw him in the lfs,he was really active compared to the other 3 CONFIRMED scombs.
he was always horizontal too.
only after putting him in my tank where theres much more current he tends to stay at an angle.
he really stuck out compared to the rest cause he wasnt at an angle and was so much more active.
also, his snout seems "longer" than the others but is at a high angle like a scombs.
his fins are big compared to his body as you can see by the pics, which puzzles me a bit.
the humeral spot seems like a tat/armatus.
he was definitely different than those others.
but looking at the armatus pics from rich for over 3 hours,i really cant tell...
experts please chime in.

At that size its going to be hard. But my guess would be TAT. Because of the gold coloring across the top. But i have never seen one in person under 3-4''. And those were very hard to keep alive so i wish you all the luck in the world for this little guy.

Tail looks huge.... VERY good sign. (Armatus)

Better pics and you should be able to tell.

I'll have to dig but I think I still have some pics of my Armatus at like 2 inches.... The tails and cadual fins stood out as being pretty big compared to the rest of the fish.
