Back with some news.
Its been really crazy these past days.
feeding proved to be quite difficult as my artemia wasn't the quality it was supposed to be and the frozen artemia was too old to have any protein left.
I lost quite a few fish in these days.
I learned how to prepare for next year though.

at this moment about 4000 left.
they are eating and I had some cannibals who ate some dead and live fish.
they grew like crazy.
I left some fish in a swimming pool to see what would happen and 12 fish ate most of the others.
they are really strong and healthy though.

they will most likely become my new breeders in about 3 years time.
this is a long term experiment and not perfect the first time around.

I posted a new video on youtube.
its a big file as i put it in HD about 2 minutes long, enjoy:)

I will grow my own adult artemia next season and get better quality cysts.
I got help from the local university. to formulate a better food than the trout food available.
there are so many things that have to be perfect to make this a success.

I am still very optimistic about the fish I have left.
I will be posting updates every few weeks plus videos.

I will post the pictures of the adults when I took them from the pond to the breeding area. in my next post
they were fully anesthetized at the time of transport.
its very hard to see the difference between male and female.
that why we anesthetize the to feel the difference.
one additional visual help is the size, female are a lot bigger than males.
but smaller fish could be young females so you have to really feel the difference
