You should be fine. Palmas, delhezi are upper jaws, similar to Senegal bichirs you currently have so they would be okay together. CB laps are really slow growers after 12”, should be ok with the others.
Sounds good. Is there any concern with the cb lap getting to big for the tank or should he be fine? Also does anyone on here keep the Palmas they could show pics of?

Should be alright but laps generally don't look too great on black substrate (no contrast) unless you like that dark look.
Ok I’ll keep that in mind. Would the Palmas be very dark as well? Or are they ok with the darker substrate?

cb laps generally don’t get too large in captivity, your cb endli would most likely grow bigger than it. Laps stay more on the skinnier side. You should be ok.
If you were to get a delhezi, with your black substrate, it may develop a greenish tinge to it. Q cool

ok got it. I’ll probably just stick with the delhezi and Palmas and I’ll wait on the lap unless I change my substrate out which I don’t rlly want to cause it’s a PITA. If I added a little white sand for a salt and peppery kind of look would that be alright for the color of one?

Well I just popped in at the lfs and they sadly don’t get a lot of Palmas in. They dwere have delhezi so I’ll have to pick up one of those. They also had weeksii and teuguelsi which I was told get to a foot and a half for weeksii and 2 feet for tuegelsi. I was under the impression that they got much bigger. What’s the chances of getting a weeksii for my tank?

Weeksi are one the the larger upper jaw bichir species especially in terms of girth. Hit or miss, some are able to cohabit with other smaller bichirs while some will eat their tankmates. Imo you should be fine if you start them growing out from small.
Teugelsi are more on the longer, slender side, kind of like a ropefish. One of the nicer pattern polypterus. Should be fine too.

is there any chance of the substrate being to dark for these guys and messing up their color? Does anyone on here keep weeksii and tuegelsi for a size reference?

Generally speaking, upper jaws should look fine on black substrate. Although it'll vary depending on individual, some are naturally darker or lighter than others.
