Nice bichirs! Haven’t been checking up on this website so never saw your posts. As they grow older, bichirs will start to lose their feathered gills. From what I’ve seen endlis tend to keep them longer compared to other bichirs. The less oxygenated the water is, it will take longer before bichirs fully lose their feathered gills.I’ve got more questions lol!!
my endli still has external gills. He’s about 5-6inches ish will they go away or is that something I should watch for?
what are your guys experience with ornate bichir growth rates? I know endlis are the fastest growers correct? What’s the growth rate of the weeksii?
Any idea why that is? Is it from the area they come from or are upper jaws just more acquainted to the darker substrate?
