I'm no expert but If I remember right it's a golden managuense , it was discovered in a mix of fry that had a few like this . some were lighter some were darker and inbetween golden and what is the normal coloring of this fish. your was most likely a repeated breeding of two golden managuense's to obtain this very goldish look .

look at the website AQUA MOJO.com there are pic's of a golden managuense there..:D
thanks all:headbang2

i will take a look at mojo after work 2moro

Looks almost identical to a dominant male bay snook (red form) in breeding dress. The only thing throwing me off is that the jaws look a bit shorter (like a jag). This, however could be the angle of the fish in the picture...

Consequently, tonight I will be posting some pics of my pair of snooks next to their first clutch of eggs. It would be very interesting to compare your male to mine and se if they appear to be different species
the lady im getting this fish from said it lays eggs so this fish it a she:nilly:

this is an interesting looking fish. color does look more like a red bay snook but body shape is more jag like though camera angles can make body shape look different than it really is. imo the color is wrong for a gold jag. I've seen several pics of gold morph jags and this fish looks more pinkish/orange than any gold jag I've seen.

ps. Bolty, there is a multiquote feature that allows you to quote more than one person in the same post. you click the icon to the right of the "quick" reply button that looks like a white notepad with a quote symbol and a + sign for each post you want to quote in your post until you get to the last post you want quoted...that's when you click the quote button. that'll save you from having to post 5 times within a couple of minutes. ;)
