ID this Albino Bichir

Did you get it at big al's? And yes its a senegal.....the albino ones are a bit different probably from the inbreeding and some are selectively bred for shortbody traits.

both senegals.
differences,as varanio stated, are most likely due to genetics.
plus, albino senegals are the most common albinos around.

we all look different, don't we? :D its just individual variation...after all they're not carbon copies of each other ;)

I've noticed that senegals seem to vary a lot in facial structure, perhaps just different bloodlines. My albino senegal is by no means a "short-bodied" bichir but IS very apparently "stubbier" than my regulars sens. I think it's common.

Alot of them have facial, tail, fin-etc. differences. It has to do with the genes.

All my Sens have those differences too. Enjoy them for who they are. It makes it easier to tell them apart and makes them unique. :D

Oh don't worry I love them both, I just wanted to know what I was talking about lol.

Anyways, thanks for the clarification guys.

Thats definately a senegal/cuvier's Bichir you have. I had two myself. One albino and one regular. And its true that the albino was slightly more stunted in length.Although they were both just as fat. What do you feed yours?
