I feed them stuff like frozen blood worms, silver sides (Which I'm leaning away from because I think it might be the root to the persistent fin rot I've had...), shrimp pellets, and Hikari carnivore sticks. I try to give them a variety throughout the week.
 
How does it cause finrot? I'm confused. I feed it 2-3X a week with no problems. What brand do you use?

Unless it is left rotting in water it shouldn't cause problems.

You can also try frozen shrimp, mysis shrimp, beefheat and some even like Brine shrimp(mine don't) and Cichlid foods.

I've been using a brand called Pro Salt.

I just don't know what else it could be! I'll take care of it for a while and then it comes back. I think my Pleco's getting it again, crap.

Oh I use the beefheart stuff too, just not as often as the others.
 
WHat medication are you using for the fin rot?
Are you following the directions
doing the full course of treatment?

Parameters? Hm, the only off thing is that my Nitrates are around 15-20. Everything else seems fine so far.

I'm going to start doing big water changes though. I don't think I've been sticking too well on that per say, it's a 75 gallon tank and I can only do 10 gallons at a time because all I have are a couple of buckets. However, I bought a big 35 gallon trash can today so that might help.

I'm using Melafix along with some Freshwater Aquarium salt, and yeah I'm doing the full 7 day treatment with the Albino in a 5 gallon hospital tank.
 
Ok melafix should be used as a preventitive not a cure go get some anti biotics and clear up the bacterial infection once and for all -Anne

i only use melafix as a preventative or at the end of a treatment when the fish is well on its way to recovering and stronger meds are no longer needed.
