Identify your North American Native Fish

Aren't the pectoral fins too long for a bantam, I cannot really tell from the photo, but if they end where I think they do, they seem too long.

Its not a bantam, it was to big. It is the biggest specimen of its species I have ever seen. Its color was very different upon death and more characteristic of others specimens I have caught. Here is a pic of one from my tank. I could be wrong about the fish in the first pic, but this one should be easy to get.

I've been working up todays collection, blue crabs. The fish is the redspotted sunfish, Lepomis miniatus. Sadly, I was not able to preserve the fish in the first pic since someone tossed it before it hit the formalin.
